Mobile Tornado's Instant Messaging service allows a workforce to transmit short, text-based messages between any users regardless of whether they are fixed (PC based) or mobile. Fully integrated with the Instant Talk service, this enhances the end user experience and mitigates the need to use separate, potentially more expensive alternatives.
Integrated Services
Integrating text-based Instant Messaging with the Instant Talk service allows users to transmit sensitive or precise information with ease, for example providing job reference numbers which can easily be mistaken or misheard when transmitted audibly. Text and voice conversations can be carried out simultaneously between multiple users so information can be transmitted while talking and referred back to when required.

A Push To Instant Message enabled IPRS client transmits messages to the IPRS™ (Internet Protocol Radio Service) Platform over the established Push To Talk control connection to maintain efficient use of the data connection on the device. The platform will relay the message to the recipient and maintain the conversation state.
