Mobile Tornado partners with Pocket Mobile.

23 March 2011

PocketMobile - www.pocketmobile.eu - and Mobile Tornado - www.mobiletornado.com - have joined forces to integrate Push To Talk functionality into one of Europe's leading enterprise focused mobile platforms.

PocketMobile Communications AB is the Nordic region's market-leading platform supplier for the development of B2B mobile software solutions. PocketMobile has developed an end-to-end mobility platform, PreCom®, which is the basis for Pocket Mobile's business. PocketMobile has a partnership strategy and reaches the market with and through partners. The platform is offered to partner companies who wish to develop and maintain mobile solutions for internal use or for its customers. End-users are often companies with their own vehicle fleets and/or a high percentage of mobile employees, i.e. people working outside the "physical office".

Several large and medium-sized companies have chosen PocketMobile and PreCom as the platform for their mobile solutions including Schenker, BTF, Ragn-Sells, Munters, Fortum, General Electric and G4S.

PTT enables organisations to communicate with their employees more efficiently and cost-effectively than when using conventional mobile services and private mobile radio solutions. Mobile Tornado's patented Internet Protocol Radio Service (IPRS) technology has been successfully deployed around the world, affording 'always-on', bandwidth-efficient communications across a range of mobile networks and devices.

The partnership between Mobile Tornado and PocketMobile has already resulted in a contract with G4S Denmark and Sweden. The security services company required a voice solution to work alongside its workforce management data application; with the new mobile platform successfully integrated into this application, G4S has been able to roll out PTT to 550 guards with more to follow in other territories.

"PocketMobile has a strong reputation for developing tailored mobile solutions that make a tangible difference to their customers' businesses," said Jeremy Fenn, Managing Director for Mobile Tornado. "By incorporating PTT into their mobile applications, PocketMobile's customers will enjoy a range of benefits associated with PTT services. Through this partnership with Pocketmobile we can develop a rich portfolio of mobile solutions that leverage the operational and cost benefits of PTT. I am delighted to see that G4S, the world's leading international security solutions group, have adopted this service in Denmark and Sweden. We look forward to working with them and other PocketMobile customers."
